The Garden Party in the Desert
Racing for Hope is a unique and festive gala
that features a blend of the rustic southwest
with the colorful pageantry and elegance of
the Kentucky Derby. Described as “the greatest
two minutes in sports,” the 144th Kentucky
Derby will be just one part of the festivities
of this fabulous afternoon.
Guests will enjoy all the grand traditions of
the Kentucky Derby, including southern and
southwestern cuisine, donning fashionable derby
hats and wagering on the ponies, all while
socializing in a “millionaires’ row” setting.
The event culminates in the “Run for the
Roses,” which will be simulcast on large
screens throughout the setting for all to see
and enjoy.

The AZ Dept. of Education reported more than 7,000 homeless youth in 9th-12th grade are living in Maricopa County, and more than 600 are unaccompanied youth. Homeless Youth Connection's mission is to raise awareness and meet the needs of these homeless youth so they can stay in school and graduate. Together with educators, government agencies, faith-based organizations, and compassionate community members and donors, HYC is helping to bring a positive future to this nearly forgotten population.
HYC currently partners with more 60+ High Schools, in 10 different districts, including several charter schools. Through the agency's continuous efforts, HYC has been able to serve 2,000 students by providing them with basic needs, case management, counseling and housing.
